Parablev on Deviantart is Cameron Gray
Parable Visions
This article is my tribute to an amazing artist I discovered on the Deviantart website. His name is Cameron Gray and he goes by the name Parablev on the Deviantart website.
Cameron
is Australian and was born in 1984. He studied Art at the University
of Tasmania. He has won numerous awards and his work has been
published and widely exhibited. His work was also accepted for
exhibition in the guest gallery of the Museum of Computer Art in
2005.
Cameron
has published several books of his artwork and is the founder and
editor of a magazine called Parable Visions which promotes
underground art from all over the world.
Cameron
claims that he cannot draw and relies on technology to create his
art. Here is a list of some of the tools used by Cameron in his
creations:
Photoshop,
Gimp2, Illustrator, Apophysis,Poser, Final Cut, AppleMacBook, Wacom
Tablet, Infra-red Canon Digital Camera and Digital Microscope.
The Big Break for Cameron
In 2010 Cameron was chosen by Warner Music to team up with some international musicians. He received an e-mail commissioning him to create album covers, graphics and imagery for a Rock Band.
What started out as a hobby for Cameron who combined graphic art and photography for fun propelled him on to the world stage with this his first major commission.
The Rock Band Dead Letter Circus wanted him to create art work that would represent or symbolise the music on an album they were releasing in 2010.
I have included a video created by Cameron at the end of this article showing the results of the work he did in launching the image of this now famous rock band.
I contacted Cameron when I first came across his work on the Deviantart website and asked him for permission to use his images with my writing. This world famous digital artist graciously consented and I now regularly use Cameron's art with the articles I write for HubPages and my own Word Press Blog.

Sample Artwork from Parablev
Following are a few examples of the Cameron Gray Art I used with my articles and I explain why I chose these particular images to make my points.
The never ending dreamer
I used this image in my article Mind Fullness because felt it very accurately describes how the monkey mind creates havoc in our lives. Instead of using thought as a tool to create what we want we are pulled in every direction by minds that behave like spoiled children.
The Artist Within
I chose this image for my article The Artist Within because it clearly illustrates the idea of how we create our own limitations for ourselves. We live in cages in our minds seldom venturing from the safety of minds that keep us separated from ourselves and our fellow man. Rather than using the power of thought to free ourselves from our own self imposed slavery we use thought to attach ourselves to an illusion that we are our minds and so we propagate the endless cycle of death and rebirth.
Forgiveness
I chose this image for my article All Criticism is Self Criticism because it describes so beautifully for me the feeling I always get when I say sorry and realise how wrong I have been for judging another. The people we say we don't like or who we feel are responsible for all our problems are in reality our best friends. By realising why we feel so negatively about someone we release ourselves from our own self criticism and there is always a spontaneous outpouring of love as a result.
A Message of Gratitude
I feel very grateful to Cameron Gray a.k.a. Parablev for allowing me to use his beautiful artwork with my writing. Without his art and the artwork of all the artists from Deviantart my articles would look so drab and lack lustre. I always maintain that a picture can speak a thousand words and when used appropriately I feel they enhance the written word and help plant the seeds of the messages we send from hub to heart.
Thank you.
